Back in July, the “big day” for several engaged couples was actually the deadline for Seacoast Hitched Heroes, a contest by Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based planning suite The Love Affair to give a free wedding to one lucky military couple currently stationed in the Seacoast area.

That date for the Seacoast Hitched Heroes contest came and went, and on August 3, their panel of vendors chose the winning couple: They decided that Dan and Whitney will be the ones to receive an incredible wedding giveaway.

According The Love Affair, Dan’s application was a true love story, full of hope and excitement mixed with a bit of frustration. He met his love Whitney while stationed in Virginia, and as soon as he met her, he realized he wanted to make her happy for the rest of her life. Every day, he dreamt about watching her walk down the aisle. But he was afraid the couple would need to take years to save up for the wedding of their dreams, and Dan didn’t want to wait that long to call her his wife.

Now he doesn’t have to. The lucky couple will receive a completely free wedding for up to 25 guests. The Love Affair’s vendors will be supplying soup to nuts for a gorgeous celebration—ceremony officiant, reception venue, wedding planning, catering, cake, flowers, Whitney’s hair and makeup, the couple’s gown and suit with professional alterations, photography, invitations, favors, calligraphy, a DJ, and professional lighting.

Dan and Whitney’s wedding will be held locally on November 5, and The Love Affair will be following the couple’s entire planning process over the next few months. Stay tuned!
