When an idea for hanging with your bridesmaids is up in the air, bring it back down to earth at The ICA. The Institute of Contemporary Art recently launched its After 5 events, a new Friday-evening program perfect for gathering your girls and kicking off your wedding weekend right.

The creative activities change every week. Past events have included “Bubbles + Bedazzling,” where guests sipped Prosecco while bedazzling items with stylist Melissa Thyden of Cosmic Unicornz, helped us chill out with Ocean Flow Yoga during active yoga sessions and ink by henna artist Heather Caunt-Nulton, and gave us a new appreciation for the caffeine while teaching us to craft Instagram-worthy foam hearts in our lattes.

Upcoming programs include October 9’s ”Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice,” which embraces fall flavors in beers and bites, and October 16’s “Outside the Lines,” where you can channel your inner child’s love of coloring books with Johanna Basford’s newest Lost Ocean and its “inky underwater adventure.”

The ICA’s After 5 programs take place Fridays (except the first Friday of each month) from 5 to 8 p.m. through April and are free to members, $15 for non-members. Weather permitting, they’re often held outside—after all, with all that fun and creativity, it’s good to have the sky as the limit.

The Institute of Contemporary Art is located at 100 Northern Avenue in Boston.
