One thing we can all agree on: Putting together a wedding isn’t exactly a piece of cake. That’s why Liz Quill, owner of planning firm Elegant Aura, just started a new venture. Called the Arrangement, the service aims to provide an alternative planning experience that prevents stress and decision fatigue by limiting the factors involved. There are just three possible dates, a single venue, two wedding packages with flat fees, and a curated list of vendors Quill has hand-selected. “After listening to so many couples tell us they ‘don’t know where to start [planning],’ and that they’re overwhelmed and too busy, it got us thinking,” Quill explains.
Here’s how it works: Quill and her team of vendors, which includes Flouer Specialty Floral Events, Peak Event Services, and DesignLight, have already done most of the planning, and they’re offering just three winter 2020 wedding dates at Connors Center in Dover. If you’re one of the three lucky couples, you’ll then assess your guest list and select a package for up to 50 people or one for up to 100. The final piece? Deciding between three pre-designed palettes: fresh green and white, soft blush and ivory, or bold jewel tones. Just because most of the work is already done, however, doesn’t mean your wedding won’t be distinct. For an added fee, couples can tweak some of the pre-arranged plans and decor selections, such as booking a band instead of a DJ, for example, or requesting additional desserts. It’s all about “limiting your choices, but still keeping things custom,” Quill says. “There is some wiggle room.”
Quill doesn’t plan on stopping at the Connors Center, either. “We want to expand this idea to as many different styles of venues as possible,” she says. While the Connors Center offers a suburban setting at a country manor with a classic look, Quill’s next partnership with 9OFS, a rooftop venue in downtown Boston, will provide a modern, urban option for couples looking to wed in late spring or late fall of next year. “We’re super excited about the possibilities,” she says. “Though we recognize that not every couple is the right couple for this approach, we are confident the right couple is out there. We believe everyone deserves a beautiful, stylish, and stress-free wedding.”
