2000 BEST Chowder, Affordable

Barking Crab

Not an appetizing name for a restaurant, but the Barking Crab’s outdoor location along Fort Point Channel makes for an appetizing setting in which to watch the harbor traffic and spoon into a bowl of a stellar chowder. This is as New England as chowder gets: loads of vegetables, chunks of potato, and a creamy broth that has enough self-assurance and respect to let the natural sea-salt taste of clam shine through.
