Urban RAID Series Will Once Again Take Over Downtown
Boston, get ready for another round of hopping over obstacles, scaling walls, swinging on monkey bars, and racing through Faneuil Hall: the Urban RAID series is returning this summer.
In July, the urban race setup—with Faneuil Hall and other sites in Boston as its backdrop—will once again go down as racers rush to the finish line after trying to complete a series of tasks lined throughout the streets.
Much like last year’s event, participants will be tasked with maneuvering through a dozen large obstacles, including a two-story cargo net climb, hurdles, ropes, and, of course, the Urban RAID wall, which will have to be scaled before anyone can make it to the end of the race.
The event will be complemented by a post-race celebration that will include both drinks and musical entertainment. The 5K obstacle course map hasn’t been revealed yet, but details about signing up for the race, and when the event will actually start, are now available on the Urban RAID website.
Registration for Urban RAID opened on March 10, and those who qualify and want to participate are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible because there are only 1,000 spots available for this year’s event.
Last year, as the day of the run approached, the organization released mock-ups of what the course would look like. Judging by the success of the 2013 course, it will likely look the same. Check out those images here.
