International fitness star, Shaun T, who most people will recognize from the Insanity commercials (he also created Focus T25 and Hip Hop Abs) is hosting an on-field (!!!) workout at Gillette Stadium Saturday, July 12 at 1:30 p.m. The workout also includes a ticket to the Revs game later that same night.

The workout packages includes:

· One spot in the live workout
· Q&A session with Shaun T after the workout
· Meet & Greet/Group Photo Session with Shaun T
· Access to a reserved tailgate area between the workout and the Revs game
· One ticket to see the Revolution vs. Fire that night (7:30 p.m. kickoff)

We talked to Shaun T to hear what we can expect that day:

[MM]What can we expect during the on-field workout?

[ST] I am so excited, but the interesting thing is I design and develop the workouts just two days before I get there. Every workout I create for people has to be authentic in the way I feel in that moment at that time. Because we are going to be on an athletic field, its going to be really exciting, and hopefully [participants] will feel like they are in the middle of a game and it’s overtime. It’s going to be like up close and personal 3-D Insanity!

What do you hope participants will get out of it?

People can expect a high-intensity, energetic trainer who will motivate them. I hope everyone leaves on a high. There’s a million different exercises out there and a million trainers. My hope is that after this workout, people will make fitness a part of their life, and if they already do, then they will continue on their exercise journey.

Insanity is an intense fitness program. Will the workout at Gillette be similar or can beginners enjoy it as well?

There will be modifications for every move so that the workout can be for everyone. I’ll have multiple people on stage showing the various ways to do each exercise. It will be for people who want to sweat and burn, or even for those who prefer a low impact workout. I call it “equal opportunity exhaustion.”

What are some of your favorite exercises?

Well, as you know, Insanity is a program where you don’t buy or use equipment, just your own body weight. I love high knee sprinting while standing in place running. It gets in cardio while also working the core. Also, a lot of people don’t do lateral movements, meaning side to side movements. I like to say, shuffle your feet to the right and touch the floor, then shuffle to the left and touch the floor. Move laterally to give your body better range of motion.

Do you have an fitness tips that people aren’t doing but should be?

For me, there’s no “quick tips.” You have to find the time to do something. Even if you aren’t working out at all, you should randomly throughout the day at the top of the hour, every hour, get up and do 15 jumping jacks. Then, the next hour, do five pushups, then the next hour, jog in place for a few minutes. Set an alarm for the top of the hour, and call over your coworkers. This way, you can all look crazy together. Also, don’t be so hard on yourself, and don’t try to go hard right out of the gate. Work with your body.
