The Remembering Catie Copley Package
Where: The Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel, 138 St James Ave., Boston
When: Through December 31, 2017
How much: Starting at $339 per night

Last month, Boston’s most famous dog passed away at the age of 16. Catie Copley, a well-mannered black lab and the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel’s longtime canine ambassador, spent years welcoming guests and charming passerby. Now, her legacy will live on thanks to a yearlong celebration package and a new plaque on the hotel’s exterior.

On Friday, the Mayor’s Office announced June 23 would officially become “Catie Copley Day” in Boston. To celebrate, Fairmont staffers unveiled a hotel plaque dedicated to Catie and presented a $1,000 donation to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. The “Remembering Catie Copley” package also launched on Catie Copley Day, and will be available to book through the rest of the year.

The package is meant to allow guests who knew Catie to celebrate and commemorate her. It starts at $339 per night, and includes luxurious overnight accommodations, a Catie plush toy, and a paw-tographed copy of Catie Copley’s Great Escape, one of two children’s books penned about Catie. During a Remembering Catie Copley stay, guests will have the chance to walk Carly Copley, another lab who was hired in 2013 as Catie readied to retire. Plus, $16 per night will be donated to the Animal Rescue League of Boston to commemorate Catie’s 16 years of fame and friendship.
