The Details on Free Summer Fitness at Post Office Square

Free classes are back and better than ever. Really.

Post Office Square, the venerable, gorgeously landscaped park situated in the middle of bustling downtown Boston (with one of the most beautiful parking garage entrances you’ll ever see), will once again host a slew of free summer fitness classes. Office workers use the park as a summer oasis to have lunch or read a book from the free library cart. But fitness enthusiasts can use the park to enjoy yoga, Zumba, Pilates, and more.

We reported a few months ago that the free, twice-daily classes were definitely coming back, but the details were thin. Now, we have the complete lineup and schedule.

Beginning June 2 and running thorough the end of August, there will be two classes a day, (a morning session at 7:15 a.m. and an evening session at 5:30 p.m. or 5:45 p.m.) Monday through Thursday. This year, you can try bootcamp, yoga, Zumba, Pilates, and a new addition to the lineup, yoga barre, where the moves will be similar to what you’d do in a barre class, sans barre.
