Friday is going to be a big day for salad bowls, Boston.

The latest Sweetgreen opens December 15 in Post Office Square, the growing company’s lucky 13th Boston restaurant. As is tradition, Sweetgreen will donate 100 percent of that day’s sales to Fresh Truck, the mobile farmers’ market.

The latest Sweetgreen—the company’s third Boston restaurant opening in the past 40 days, after November debuts on State Street and in the Seaport—is more than 2,000 square feet, and features art by local artist Kate Drewniak.

It will offer Sweetgreen’s seasonally sourced fall menu—the warm curry cauliflower quinoa bowl; a salad with roasted chicken and Brussels sprouts; Shroomami, with wild rice and a warm portobello mix; and more. It opens Friday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m. The company also has a couple suburban locations forthcoming, at Dedham’s Legacy Place, and in Wellesley.

After checking out the newest Sweetgreen, head over to Boston’s newest, locally grown, healthy-bowl spot: Grainmaker. The Asian-inspired quick-service restaurant debuted in October near South Station, and it’s celebrating the holidays this Friday with a day of discounts and festivities.

From 11 a.m.-1 p.m., lunch-goers will receive half off all entrees. That includes “chef bowls,” like Chef Curry, with jasmine rice, green beans, sweet potatoes, and red coconut curry sauce; and salads, like Urban Greens, with squashes, pickled daikon, Thai herbs, and almond-hoisin dressing. Or go for one of the street food-style dishes, like a banh mi, tacos, or noodles.

In the afternoon from 2-5 p.m., plantain chips and a side of mango salsa are complimentary. The lights go down and the music turns up from 6-9 p.m. Boston singer-songwriter Ryan Jennings will perform, and Grainmaker’s local libation partners, Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing and Dovetail Sake, are bringing the drinks. A portion of the whole day’s sales will be donated to Boston Rescue Mission food shelter, which Grainmaker collaborates with every day to mitigate food waste.

In the midst of eight days of doughnuts, and ahead of the 12 days of cookies, we welcome a festive Friday full of salads.
