Camille Curioso and Kevin Dutra entered the Rhode Island School of Design at the same time, but it took four years—and a move a few hundred miles south—before their paths finally crossed. Call it fate: After striking up a conversation at a New York City bar a week after their 2008 graduation, the two realized they had many mutual acquaintances. “Everyone I considered my good friend was there,” Kevin says, “and she knew all of them.”
Fast-forward four more years, when Kevin proposed to Camille on the rooftop of their apartment. The bride-to-be, a Rhode Island native, already had her heart set on a location: She’d seen a beautiful private beach in Little Compton on a blog, and used her Ocean State connections to find the exact spot. When she and Kevin drove up to the farm to ask if they could host a waterfront wedding on the land, the owner was initially hesitant. But the three quickly bonded over a shared love of art and set the date.
From there, the design-minded duo focused on the details. “We wanted it to be a modern take on rustic,” says Camille, who plucked the color palette from the windswept environs. “It felt like we were in a really great landscape painting,” Kevin says. “We wanted to see both water and the natural setting from the tent.”
Camille made her own bouquet from hydrangeas. The baby-breath bunches carried by the bridesmaids were a nod to her mother, who chose the same flowers for her wedding ceremony.
The couple designed the invitations themselves.
Camille and Kevin had only one cake in mind for their wedding day: Momofuku Milk Bar’s birthday cake, a sugary confection of crunchy cake crumbles and sprinkles. The topper, a pair of porcelain Herend bunnies, was inspired by the couple’s pet rabbit, Robinson.
Camille found her one-shoulder chiffon Vera Wang gown in New York City.
The couple hosted 150 guests at a tented beach reception that featured a clambake and a roast pig—the latter is a must-have for any Filipino celebration, Camille says.
“Summer isn’t summer without Del’s,” says Kevin, who arranged to have the frozen-lemonade company’s truck stationed at the wedding all night.
The bride wore sparkly Jimmy Choo wedges to avoid sinking into the sand.

The couple bought animal trinkets at a party store, then spray-painted them gold to create table place cards. Kevin’s grandmother tied on the tags.
