Chris Vogel is an award-winning investigative journalist, feature writer, and editor in chief of Boston magazine. He has been a finalist for the Livingston Award and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Awards. He was also the winner of the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism and the James Aronson Award for Social Justice. Vogel has written about the murders of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, Mexican drug-war refugees, oil workers kidnapped in Nigeria, the underground sex world of Washington, D.C., and environmental crimes. He went to graduate school for journalism in Dublin, Ireland, and has taught magazine writing at UCLA. His work has been published by Washingtonian magazine and Village Voice Media.
