The Curse of the Construction Worker

1207943651Ever since the Red Sox won the World Series, we’ve stopped believing in baseball curses. Sure, it might be bad for Dan Shaughnessy’s business, but now that the franchise has proven it’s all about good management fielding an excellent team (who knew?!), even Bill Buckner can find love. Maybe Shaughnessy’s brand of voodoo sells better in New York. Because the Yankees won’t quit with their curse talk.

The New York Post reports that a construction worker buried a Red Sox shirt in the concrete of what will become the visiting team’s locker room in the new Yankee Stadium.

“In August, a Red Sox T-shirt was poured in a slab in the visitor’s clubhouse. It’s the curse of the Yankees,” one worker said. “Nobody knows about it. It’s in the floors, it’s buried.”

Yawn. All that histrionic stuff is so 2003. What Yankees fans should really be worried about is the hawk at Fenway Park who has a taste for the blood of people named A-Rod.
