Wine-Tasting Dinner Mondays at Beacon Hill Bistro. Explore exotic wine regions without having to leave the city limits at the Beacon Hill eatery, which will host four-course dinners paired with wines on select Mondays beginning on Feb 27. First up? “South by Southwest,” a tour of South France’s Languedoc/Roussillon region, Rhone Valley, and the Spanish Border, followed by an overview of Burgundy’s Pinot Noir on March 12. $60, plus tax and tip, reservations required. 25 Charles St., Boston, 617-723-7575, beaconhillhotel.com/bistro.

Six-year anniversary at Lineage restaurant. The Brookline restaurant, known for its farm-to-table New American fare, will celebrate its sixth anniversary on February 28. For this festive event, owner Jeremy Sewall (who also runs the kitchens at Eastern Standard and Island Creek Oyster Bar) will bring in a star-studded team of chef pals to prepare some hors d’oeuvres. Expect to see and mingle with familiar faces such as Jody Adams (Rialto), Chris Schlesinger (East Coast Grill) and Michael Schlow (Radius). Burrito-Rolling Competition at Anna’s Taqueria. The popular burrito joint will give any participant a shot at “Spoon Ninja” fame, in a burrito-rolling contest at its Harvard Street location, hosted WFNX newsman Henry Santoro. The two contestants who build the fastest burrito win a “Golden Spoon” trophy, while all other participants can still walk away with a free Anna’s giftcard and a t-shirt. Those seeking burrito-rolling tips can head to the professional burrito-rolling demonstration beforehand. Infusion Tasting at Bully Boy Distillers. Boston’s first craft distillery will host a special-tasting event on Feb 29, featuring an “umami” creation of white whiskey, apple, ginger root, honey, and cinder vineager by mixologist Noon Inthasuwam. BBQ Cookbook release party at Tremont 647. Hailed as an event for “meat-lovers” only, Andy Husbands’ Wicked Good BBQ cookbook launch party on March 5 will not go light on the cholesterol, with passed appetizers such as “six-day Bacon of the Gods” with three-day kimchi, a smoked buffalo turkey wing “explosion,” and a “seven-layer dip of disbelief.” And if one manages to make room for mains, they’re serving family-style platters of beef brisket with Blues Hog bbq sauce, gravy fries, cornbread, cassoulet, and a whole hog, spit-roasted porchetta style. 6 p.m., $45. 647 Tremont St., Boston, 617-266-4600, tremont647.com.
