Audubon Circle Debuts a Lobster Roll-Hot Dog Hybrid “Lobster Dog”

Enough said.

Introducing the Audubon Circle Kobe lobster dog mascot—or shall we call him the Dogster? Photos courtesy of Audubon Circle.

Let’s say you’re hanging out on the quaint patio at Audubon Circle (a 2012 Best of Boston winner), cold pint of beer in hand. After a brief scan of the menu, you’re experiencing a major dilemma: will you order the mammoth, meaty Kobe beef hot dog? Or the cool, creamy lobster roll? What to do? WHAT TO DO?

Perhaps this scenario has happened one too many times at the Kenmore restaurant, because they’ve just debuted a crazy, yet crazy-intriguing new sandwich: the Kobe beef Lobster Dog, a grilled hot dog nestled next to a heaping serving of lobster that’s been dressed in a mixture of dijon mustard, mayo, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Do the two proteins belong together within the confines of a single hot dog bun? Well, that’s for you to find out—the sandwich, which is $14 a pop, debuted last night.

And if you’re as pumped over the new sandwich as the folks over at Audubon Circle are, you may want to participate in the Lobster Dog parade that they’re planning for early September. Dogs wearing lobster costumes are, of course, more than welcome to attend.

Could this be the original Dogster? (Photo via Flickr/MjaMes1408)
