And you can get a taste on the house.

You have options when you hunt for quality java in the city, but not every café serves cupcakes. Enter Sweet Bakery: The downtown Boston location will begin selling coffee and espresso on Monday, April 10. Bonus: the shop is giving out free pours that day to celebrate.

From 8-10 a.m., stop by Sweet on School Street for a free small coffee. The team plans to offer some breakfast pastry samples to pair with your drink, too.

The morning pick-me-up will offer a taste of the shop’s new coffee menu, which will feature roasts from Fazenda Coffee Company in Dedham. Sweet will pull espresso shots, and whip up cappuccinos and macchiatos, and it will also have a selection of pour-overs, iced coffees, and hot chocolates.

The bakery has four other locations in Beacon Hill, Back Bay, Chestnut Hill, and Harvard Square, but there are no immediate plans to adopt the menu across the board, says a representative for the company. The bakery team chose to introduce coffee at their downtown location because it sees the most foot traffic in the mornings.

With free coffee on the line, that crowd will only get bigger, so post up early and cure those Monday blues.
