Bruins Will Hold Send Off Celebration and Rally At TD Garden Before Game 1

As the team heads to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks, fans can say goodbye from inside the venue.

Bruins fans will have a chance to say goodbye to the team as they depart TD Garden on Tuesday and get ready to head to Chicago for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Unfortunately, unlike the rally held outside the Garden in 2011, where thousands of fans gathered in their Bruins gear to see the team board buses to take them to the airport, this year’s event will be held indoors and will be limited to a certain number of attendees.

According to the Bruins website, because of the rainy weather, the sendoff will take place inside TD Garden at the level 2 turnstiles area. As a result, only the first 1,000 fans to arrive will be admitted. Fans can enter at the East Premium Entrance beginning at 10:30 a.m. The event is free, and on a first come, first serve basis.

Games 1 and 2 of the Bruins versus the Blackhawks will be played in Chicago at the United Center on Wednesday, June 12, at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, June 15, at 8 p.m. The Bruins will then host the Blackhawks for Games 3 and 4 on Monday, June 17, at 8 p.m., and Wednesday, June 19, at 8 p.m.

On Monday, fans were camped out at TD Garden, tents and all, for a chance to score tickets to one of the two homegames. A third home game may be necessary, and would also be held in Boston, if there is no champion after Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
