Who or what inspired you as a child to start your own business?
After graduating college, I realized I didn’t like to be in a closed work environment with little control over my own future. My father, who owned his own business was one of my biggest inspirations growing up and he regularly showed me, through his own actions, the importance of working hard, standing by your word, and not giving up.
Why is location important to the success of your business?
In the early 1990s, I moved to Atlanta and quickly realized that I was at a distinct disadvantage as an agent because I was not from that area. For my profession, it is very important to know as much as you can about the towns and areas where you do business and what each offers. Having grown up in the Boston area and after raising my family here, I feel much more qualified to provide exceptional service in a location that I know so well.
Who do you consider your mentor?
Besides my husband who is my closest advisor, I also regularly rely on other successful business people’s advice, both in and out of the real estate profession, each holding their own set of skills and expertise in their respective fields.
