The Boston Center for Adult Education has created a new series of Friday night dance classes to get the body moving while also teaching its clients a thing or two about international rhythms. The new series includes: Salsa, Bollywood, Belly Dancing, and Irish Dancing. All skill levels are welcome. (So no dance skills, no problem.)

Irish Dance Night

Kyra Shekitka will lead this class which doubles as an intense workout. She’s been Irish dancing since age four and has competed in the National Irish Dance Championship.

When: Friday, March 7, 2014; 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost: $36/$31 members

Belly Dance Night

Belly dancing is a great workout that also increases flexibility, and of course, tones the tummy. Instructor Loni Butera has taught at the BCAE since 1997. She studied belly dancing in Germany with leading instructors from Europe, North America, and the Mediterranean basin.

When: Friday, March 28; 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Cost: $36/$31 members

Bollywood Dance Night

This is a vibrant and traditional Indian dance class with up-tempo rhythms. Students can wear their shoes, socks, or even bare feet. The BCAE says that “comfort is key” for this class. The instructor, Param Roychoudhury, is originally from India and has taught the Bollywood style of dance for many years.

When: Friday, April 4; 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost: $36/$31 members

Salsa Dance Night

This class is fast-paced, sultry, and an amazing workout that focuses on heart-pumping cardio. You don’t need a partner to participate but the BCAE is requesting that students wear leather-soled shoes.

When: Friday, April 18; 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost: $36/$31 member
