Rudy Giuliani Unwillingly Gets With a Winner

While most of the media has focused Mitt Romney’s disastrous campaign, the real story of defeat is the collapse of former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. America’s mayor started his campaign on a swell of goodwill from people who remembered him as the man who kept his shit together during 9/11 and ended it sounding confused and beaten.

Giuliani’s season of discontent is not over yet. Some wiseacre at Topps has Photoshopped the noted Yankees fan onto a baseball card that features the celebrating 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox.

We haven’t bought baseball cards since the days when we had an allowance, but this may have us counting our nickels in the hopes of grabbing one of these cards.

Clay Luraschi, the baseball brand manager at Topps, said they came up with the idea to put Giuliani in the championship dog pile [after the] Republican Presidential Candidate told supporters he was rooting for the Red Sox against the Colorado Rockies in the World Series.

We love that almost enough to trade our Mitt mitt for a baseball card with Giuliani celebrating with the Sox. Almost.
