The Verb Hotel officially opens today and they’ve announced an exciting restaurant partner to accompany their classic mid-century motel concept. James Beard Award winning chef Tim Cushman and his wife, Nancy, owners of O Ya, will open their second Boston restaurant, Hojoko, within the re-imagined take on the historic Fenway Motor Lodge.

It has already been a busy year for the Cushmans, who opened Roof at Park South in the New York’s Flatiron District earlier in May. Set to open later this fall, Hojoko promises to be a high-energy izakaya that general manager Alyssa DiPasquale describes as “funky and fun.”

Construction just began on the new space, and the Cushmans have yet to finalize their beverage and dinner menus, but Tim, an alumnus of Berklee College of Music, says he shares the same vision as the hotel’s developers to bring the space back to its musical and artistic roots. Besides the Cushmans’ brand of Japanese pub fare, The Verb will boast 94 affordable rooms, an outdoor pool, and a cocktail program in the lobby and pool areas.

Stay tuned for more details.
