It was 1979 when The Catered Affair (TCA) pioneered a luxurious dining experience that seamlessly married flawless hospitality with brilliant flavors. The possible design opportunities and endless custom menu options are enough to fall in love with, but TCA always has a way to take the planning process up a notch.

Every TCA client works with a dedicated event producer, allowing you to relax and enjoy the lead-up to your big day.

TCA has an impressive—and growing—portfolio of iconic venue partners across Boston and Cambridge. The venues boast notable cultural institutions that give inquisitive minds an opportunity to experience the arts and cultural scene to peer further into the history and culture of Boston.

Boston Public Library

One of the city’s most famous cultural institutions, the Boston Public Library includes both the historic McKim Building and the newer, modern Boylston Street Building. The McKim Building offers a variety of rooms guests will enjoy.

Abbey Room located on the second floor is ideal for intimate ceremonies and dinners, or used in conjunction with a larger room such as Bates Hall for dessert and dancing. The room also features a beautiful fireplace of French Rouge antique marble, dark oak wainscoting, and a beamed ceiling modeled after one in the library of the Doge’s Palace in Venice.

Bates Hall is the most recognized room in the library, with walls adorned with bookcases, green reading lanterns, and solid oak tables. After hours, Bates Hall can be transformed into a magical destination for entertaining.

The Courtyard is the heart of the library that bridges the old with the new. A beautiful outdoor oasis with a dramatic fountain and marble columns creates an air of elegance and history. The Courtyard’s privacy is the perfect way to host an outdoor event in an urban setting.

The Boylston Street Building underwent a $78 million restoration in 2016. It offers a contemporary setting with incredibly versatile spaces perfect for large corporate events, galas, or weddings. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlook Boylston Street, fully immersing guests in the Back Bay scenery.

Entertain your guests in the historic heart of the Harvard Art Museums, Calderwood Courtyard. This glorious space serves as the central point of circulation in the museums’ new home.

The Catered Affair also invites you to entertain after hours with exclusive access to the art collections on display. Whether you’re looking for a lively reception or a formal dinner or tribute, The Catered Affair will elevate your event into an extraordinary experience.
