The Most Thrilling Entertainment Coming to Boston’s West End this Summer

Summer days in Boston are some of our city’s best—picnics on the Common, walks through Seaport, or catching a game at Fenway. Boston’s many neighborhoods offer the best ways to fill your days, but where you want to spend your nights is The Hub on Causeway in the West End. Craft beers and cocktails, live music, and activities await—the only thing you won’t experience during a night out at The Hub is boredom.

Party Like a Bostonian at Big Night Live

Big Night Live (BNL) is one of Boston’s premier live venues for performers and DJs. This summer’s carefully curated lineup is one of their most dynamic yet. Here are some standouts you might want to take advantage of.

Gimme Gimme Disco

Mamma Mia! Here we go again; all those 18+ can dance the night away at BNL to the best disco tracks on July 14. From ABBA to the Bee Gees, dress up, go out, and dance all night. Take a chance on BNL!

Loud Luxury

DJ lovers, looking to hear a good remix or experience some iconic House music? The Canadian duo Loud Luxury is making its way to The Hub this summer. Start your Fourth of July week off right by going to the show on Monday July 3.

Duke Dumont

Red Light, Green Light—Go see Duke Dumont, the Grammy nominated English DJ, on August 26. Vibe out to some of this artist’s best hits like Ocean Drive and I Got U this summer with hundreds of new friends.

Soulja Boy

Crank that first night of Labor Day weekend with the iconic Soulja Boy Friday, September 1. No need to call 678-triple 9-8212, all the fun you are looking for will be at Big Night Live.

Concerts at TD Garden

TD Garden is our city’s most iconic entertainment venue, the home of the Celtics and Bruins, and known for hosting the world’s most renowned artists. This summer greats of various decades are hitting the road again and gracing the Garden’s storied stage. Some might even take us to the year 3000 (apparently, not much has changed, but we live underwater). Here are a few top names you can see this summer.

Alicia Keys “Keys to the Summer” Tour

Fifteen-time Grammy award winner Alicia Keys is known for her powerhouse vocals—hear her live this summer. She is taking some of her most memorable numbers on the road, like “Girl on Fire,” and stopping at TD Garden on July 9.

Drake and 21 Savage’s “It’s All a Blur” Tour

After releasing four studio albums over the last five years, Drake is finally returning to the stage with his first tour since 2018. This retrospective concert is a celebration of Drake’s past legendary decade. Super fans can see them both nights, July 11 and 12.

The Jonas Brothers

Advertised as five albums in one night, the Jonas Brothers are taking their discography on the road this summer with a setlist that’s sure to stir up all the feels. Take advantage of this guaranteed blast from the past (don’t worry they promised their latest hits too), at TD Garden on August 15 and 16.

Madonna “The Celebration” Tour

In need of a Holiday? Well, an artist who needs no introduction can make it happen. Madonna, on her first world tour since 2016, is reinventing herself yet again this summer. This performance is a celebration of all her eras and will be her biggest production yet. Catch her on back-to-back performances at TD Garden August 30 and 31.

AMC at The Hub on Causeway

Come on, Barbie, let’s go to The Hub on Causeway where you can go to relax or catch the premiere of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie on July 21. Soon to be opened, AMC will have an elevated viewing experience complete with 13 state of the art screens, a full snack bar and comfortable seating.

Fabulous Spots for Drinks, Food, and Dessert

Guy Fieri’s Tequila Cocina

If you don’t already know and love Guy Fieri, you will after sitting down at his first Boston restaurant located at The Hub on Causeway in the heart of the West End. This joint serves inventive and delicious dishes, like crispy cheeseburger tacos, Mexican shrimp cocktails, and mouth-watering drinks (we recommend the Smoke Show) in a colorful, maximalist atmosphere.

Guy’s is guaranteed to be a good time, with a lively, fun ambience, and is the perfect place to hit before you see a show at Big Night Live. Pro tip: eating at Tequila Cocina earns you a Flavortown Fastpass, which enables you to skip the line at Big Night Live.

Banners Kitchen & Tap

Can you name a better place to watch sports, sip craft cocktails, try new drafts, and devour appetizers than Banners Kitchen & Tap? We didn’t think so. You will be treated like a proper Bostonian and eat like one at this elevated sports bar. And if a bustling bar isn’t for you, check out their TopGolf Swing Suites, where you and friends can flex your swing.

Hub Hall

The Hub on Causeway’s Hub Hall is exactly what it sounds like, a one-stop mecca for top-notch food and drink from the best chefs Boston has to offer. This centrally located spot has over a dozen different food and drink options. If that sounds overwhelming, do not worry we have pulled our top picks for you.

Mike’s Pastry

Boston’s most iconic pastry shop, has opened a new micro location at Hub Hall. Because let’s be real, when you are zipping through North Station you need a Mike’s cannoli (or two…or three…).

Momosan Ramen Boston

The Hub on Causeway is big enough for two Food Network stars. Iron chef Morimoto opened Momosan, a full-service restaurant in Hub Hall which features sake, Japanese beers, ramen, sushi, and more delicacies in 2021. So, grab a table with your group or just a seat at the bar and prepare for an unforgettable meal.

Frankie’s Fat Tomatoes:

Award winning chef Frank McClelland set his white linen tablecloths aside to offer the Italian-American favorites you’ve loved your whole life. You won’t believe how good these classic dishes can be when they are created using farm fresh ingredients and refined techniques just like the old country. Fuel up before the game or grab dinner before getting back on the train.

The Smoke Shop BBQ

Award-winning pitmaster Andy Husbands is the hospitality mogul behind Hub Hall’s The Smoke Shop. Andy’s twenty-plus years of competitive barbecuing come through in his classic, spice-smothered meals and creative deluxe sandwiches.

Mida Apizza

James Beard recipient Chef Douglass Williams and his team at Mida believe that pizza is a love language in itself. At Mida Apizza, the menu features a plentitude of toppings that are crafted in two unique pizza styles. With the house made dough, these pies are handmade daily and will have you believing that pizza is love, too.
