The Boston Pops Performs Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’

No treble.

Conductor Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops are continuing through their spring 2015 season, prevailing as champions of the orchestra in so many spectrums. Just the day after opening night, they took on Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass. Are they saluting the doo-wop queen’s roots as a Massachusetts native? Sure, maybe. But it’s pretty fabulous, and also quite an honor for Trainor, who shared the video on Twitter.)

The song was performed as part of the Pops’ interactive ‘By Popular Demand’ program, one they rolled out this season that allows audiences to live-vote song selections during concerts. Audience members can vote for their favorite songs from their phones to determine what the orchestra will play for the second portion of the concert. It’s all very cool and hip, hence song choices like “Bass.”
