If you love spoiling your little protégé, you’ll want to head to the South End this weekend for a truly chic shopping spree. CouCou (French for “peek-a-boo”) is opening on Union Park Street, debuting a trendy collection of clothing, accessories, toys, and housewares for children ages zero to ten.

Owner Astrid Motsenigos traded in a life as a creative director and is now using her trained eye to curate the shop with imports from around the globe. Inspired by her childhood in Europe, and an inability to find stylish children’s essentials for her daughter, Motsenigos set out to find beautifully designed goods for her new shop which will feature brands like Vilac (handmade wooden toys from the French Jura Mountains), Búho (a Spanish clothing line featuring charming bohemian looks), Rice (colorful Danish housewares for children), and Louise Misha (a vintage-inspired clothing brand from France).

Not only will the store feature ready-to-wear clothes from international designers and handmade toys and crafts—CouCou caters to the families stopping in to browse. The CouCou playroom gives children a chance to sample toys, get creative at an art station, or relax in a cozy reading corner. The shop also boasts a nursing and changing room filled with baby essentials for moms on the go.

Below, get a first look at the new space, which opens this Sunday at 24 Union Park Street.
