WATCH: Aly Raisman’s Top Routines on Dancing with the Stars
For weeks, celebrity contestants on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars have danced their hearts out. Only four remain: country music artist Kellie Pickler, Disney Channel star Zendaya, NFL wide receiver Jacoby Jones, and Boston-bred Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman. Yesterday’s performance show was the last for cycle 16’s finalists, and in support of Needham’s Aly Raisman, we’re revisiting her best performances with dance partner Mark Ballas on the show:
Week 4: Contemporary to David Guetta’s “Titanium”
Raisman is used to being strong and firm with her movements as a longtime gymnast, but this routine shows her flexibility as a dancer. This moving routine instantly became one of the most popular numbers from this season of DWTS.
Week 3: Viennese Waltz to Ed Sheeran’s “Give Me Love”
It was prom week at Dancing with the Stars. Raisman and Ballas played characters without dates who stumble upon each other at the prom. This dance also has some contemporary dance styles, too. In the episode, Raisman talked about her own prom at Needham High School.
Week 8: Argentine Tango
The sweet and innocent Aly Raisman turns sexy and fiesty! After this routine with the two of them so in sync, I’m convinced that Ballas and Raisman are perfect dance partners.
Week 6: Foxtrot to Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely”
The week following the Boston Marathon tragedy, Raisman got emotional behind the scenes at rehearsals with Ballas. But she ended up pulling together a great routine. Plus, her dress was fabulous.
Week 9: Rumba to Bruno Mars’s “When I Was Your Man”
This was Raisman’s routine from last week, and boy, had she improved since her cha cha during week one. Plus, Mark Ballas is so funny teaching Raisman to be “more passionate” in the rehearsal footage.
Will Raisman walk off the stage with a win? The season finale of Dancing with the Stars airs tonight at 9 p.m. on ABC.
