Watch Mark Wahlberg Do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Plus, Facebook released proof that Boston is the center of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Mark Wahlberg is the latest local celeb to add to the long list of ALS Ice Bucket Challenge participants.

He got his whole family to partake in the challenge with him (looks like perhaps on the set of Ted 2). Wahlberg’s wife, Rhea, and three of his kids joined in: 10-year-old Ella, 8-year-old Michael, and 5-year-old Brendan. His 4-year-old daughter, Grace, didn’t participate, however, probably because she’s #overit.

The actor was challenged by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Lowell boxer Micky Ward (whom Wahlberg played in The Fighter), and his Transformers co-star, Nicola Peltz. He has nominated Spike Lee, Eminem, and Manny Pacquiao.

Young Michael Wahlberg, however, nominates Jay Z and Bob Kraft. Bold move, dude, bold move.

On a related note, it definitely shouldn’t surprise us anymore that everyone around our quarters is doing the Ice Bucket Challenge. Facebook released data that shows the spread structure of the phenomenon is centered around Boston. Many attribute the challenge to Boston College baseball player Pete Frates, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2012 and seems to be the root of the viral sensation.

According the stats, more than 28 millions people have joined the conversation about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and 2.4 million people have shared related videos on Facebook.
