Watch the First Trailer for Jennifer Lawrence’s Joy

Filming for David O. Russell's latest flick brought J.Law to Boston this hellish winter.

This winter, amidst a flurry of Jennifer Lawrence sightings reported in Boston, you might have wondered, “Why is Jennifer Lawrence in Boston?” This is why Jennifer Lawrence was in Boston.

The first trailer for David O. Russell’s Joy was released Tuesday, complete with a wonderfully unsettling, bell-filled rendition of the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” The film, set in Wilmington, stars J.Law as Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, opposite Silver Linings Playbook co-star Bradley Cooper, who plays a Home Shopping Network executive, and Robert DeNiro.

Joy was filmed in Lynn and Haverhill, where locals noted the actors’ “period clothes and big belt buckles.” In her spare time, Lawrence took spin classes at Flywheel, ate dumplings, and flipped off paparazzi in a snow storm (A typical February afternoon for me, quite frankly). She even skipped the Academy Awards to take a stroll through Shops at the Prudential Center with her bodyguard and pooch, Pippi.

Joy is slated for a Christmas 2015 release.
