The triathlon is one of the most daunting athletic events out there. After all, the mega-race involves a lengthy swim, a longer run, and an even longer bike ride. We’re exhausted just thinking about it.

Wanderlust 108, however, is flipping the format on its head with “the world’s only mindful triathlon.” The event still offers a worthy physical challenge—it involves a 5K run or walk, 90 minutes of yoga, and a 30-minute guided meditation—but with the added perk of finding a little zen along the way.

The event is on a worldwide tour this year, making its way to Boston on August 12. Local running guru Amanda Nurse will lead the 5K and pre-run stretch, and other local instructors and businesses will also join the festivities.

In addition to the triathlon, there will be optional activities such as hula-hooping, AcroYoga, restorative yoga, an essential oils workshop, a photography workshop, and meditative walks. There will also be healthy food and beverages available for purchase. You can register and find more details here.
