McPhee Apologizes

In case you missed it (and I did, since I was on vacation), WTKK 96.9 FM radio host Michele McPhee did something on Friday’s show that too few talkers before her have: She apologized.

Earlier in the week, McPhee made an unfortunate remark about gay men and the fashion industry. Thereafter, she told Boston Daily the comment was misconstrued, and that she’s not homophobic.

For what it’s worth, she sounded pretty contrite and sincere during her on-air mea culpa. You can listen to it here. And the next day, the Herald — where McPhee works as a crime reporter — ran a story furthering those sentiments.

Good for McPhee for standing up and admitting her mistake. Hopefully everyone can move on now.
