Here’s a Tiny Replica of the Zakim Bridge Made Out of Prince Pasta

To celebrate the the 100th anniversary of the North End’s famed pasta producer, Prince Pasta, students from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design created mini-sculptures of famous Boston landmarks using pieces of the Italian company’s product.

That’s right, they made a Zakim Bridge mold out of spaghetti. Other pasta pieces included a replica of the Swan Boats in the Public Garden, and The Paul Revere Statue in Boston’s North End. To look at the rest of the pasta models visit the MassArt website. 

The sculptures are part of a contest where students from MassArt’s Studio Foundation compete for a $5,000 scholarship from Prince Pasta. The winner will be decided based on votes from the general public. People can visit Prince Pasta’s Facebook page to cast their vote. Voting ends in October.

At the unveiling of the models, Mayor Tom Menino declared Wednesday “Prince Pasta Day” in the city, and celebrated the company’s 100th Anniversary by kicking off a month-long celebration, which includes a “Born in Boston” pasta food truck.
