Just one week ago, the Baker administration announced an advisory recommending that all Massachusetts residents wear masks or face coverings in public. If you didn’t already have one, you’re probably now picking up your groceries with a cut-up t-shirt from college, your old bedsheets, or half a bra strapped to your face. It may not be glamorous, but it gets the job done.

For Boston’s stylish set, however, function doesn’t have to win over fashion. Over the past few days, local artists have taken to Instagram to post photos of their chic, embellished face masks, and we have to say—in a time when we’re scared, upset, and homebound, it’s nice to be reminded that there are, in fact, still pretty things in the world. Check out some of our favorites below.

Massachusetts’ Project Runway alums are of course leading the charge on the face mask fashion front. Here are the statement-making masks from Season 15 winner Erin Robertson:

Season 14 contestant Kelly Dempsey:

Local clothing line Alice Walk crafted some minimalist masks with a tiny personalized touch.

Dorchester artist Elise Huguette also added some embroidered embellishments to her mask.

Designer Khatu Wong’s mask is perfect for springtime (and as a bonus, she also has some good tricks for keeping your mask from hurting your ears!).

Wong has less embellished (but still pretty!) masks available here.

Newbury Street designer Betsy Jenney’s mask of course coordinates with her sleek black ensemble.

Designer Daniel Faucher’s mask was perfect for last weekend’s holiday—
