In our November issue, we discussed the rising popularity of dining out on Thanksgiving— and leaving all of the table setting and dirty dishes to the pros. Chances are, if you’ve decided to slack off on cooking a bird this year, you may have neglected to make your turkey day reservation as well. Thanksgiving Dinner at Royal Sonesta Hotel’s ArtBar in Cambridge: The ArtBar will be hosting a family-style Thanksgiving buffet dinner, with a menu that includes organic roasted turkey, butter-whipped Yukon potatoes, herbed carrots, roasted Brussels sprouts and – wait for it – your choice of apple, chocolate cream, pecan, or pumpkin pie. Fine Dining ‘Family Style’ Thanksgiving at the Seaport Hotel’s Aura in Boston: Round up the whole family and head down to Aura Restaurant at the Seaport Hotel this Thanksgiving. Chef Rachel Klein offers a buffet brunch that will feature dishes including a truffled leek quiche, stuffed pork loin, cauliflower gratin, chicken apple sausage and pecan pie. Thanksgiving at Foundry on Elm in Davis Square: Foundry on Elm’s Thanksgiving feast includes a cider-brined free-range turkey dinner ($20) complete with traditional mashed potatoes, stuffing, spaghetti squash, cranberry sauce, and classic gravy. The Thanksgiving Sandwich at Foumami in Boston: Those looking for something a touch more exotic—and casual—can celebrate with an Asian-style gourmet sandwich at Foumami Asian Sandwich Bar. During the week of Thanksgiving (excluding Thursday and Friday, as the restaurant will be closed for the holiday), Foumami will offer a Turkey Kara-age sandwich that combines lightly breaded and fried turkey breast, Asian-spiced chestnut stuffing, and a tomato-based fruit and vegetable sauce served on shao bing, an artisanal bread popular in the Beijing-Shandong regions of China. Thanksgiving Brunch and Dinner at the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf: The Boston Harbor Hotel will host a Thanksgiving brunch in the Atlantic Room overlooking Boston Harbor. The menu includes traditional New England fare, as well as a selection of standards like smoked fish, bagels and cream cheese, and other delicacies. Annual Thanksgiving Feast at Upstairs on the Square in Cambridge: This year’s menu includes native apple cider, smoked salmon tartar on buttered brown bread toast, New England crab cakes, farm-raised roasted turkey with the traditional sides, pork loin with sweet potato gratin, rib eye steak, and much more. Among the desserts will be apple, pumpkin, and pecan pie and several other sweets. The restaurant will also offer a special vegan menu, including but not limited to roasted pumpkin soup, baked butternut squash, apple bourbon cranberry relish, and chocolate fudge cookies.
