The Blue Room Team to Open Belly Wine Bar in Kendall Square

The forthcoming spot will offers a range or charcuterie, cheeses, and, of course, vino.

Time for Kendall Square oenophiles to get very, very excited: the team behind The Blue Room and Central Bottle will soon open Belly Wine Bar, a spot that seems to be the casual offspring of its upscale restaurant and wine shop parents. According to a listing on Craigslist, Blue Room chef Robert Grant (formerly of The Butcher Shop and Bouchon in Vegas) will be at the helm, and offer “charcuterie, cheese, and wine with a strong emphasis on whole animal cookery, butchering, and local sourcing whenever possible.”

Sounds like a coup for the increasingly food-stacked Kendall area, and this solidifies the return of the wine bar in the Boston area—Sip is on the horizon in Downtown Crossing, while the team behind Dave’s Fresh Pasta in Somerville recently confirmed to us that they’re hoping to have a wine bar open near their gourmet foods shop by fall.

The Craigslist post states that Belly Wine Bar will open in August; we will keep you posted as we learn more.
