No need for plates, plastic wrap, or even tupperware for leftovers when you order a pizza from The Upper Crust Pizzeria. Starting this month, the Boston-area chain (with locations in Brookline, Beacon Hill, Lexington, South End, Watertown, and Wellesley) has started packaging their pizzas in eco-friendly boxes that break down into plates and storage containers.

Developed by EcoventionLLC, “The GreenBox” is made of 100 percent recyclable materials. Dubbed “the pizza box of the 21st century” by Fox News, the multi-functional box has a top that breaks down into four plates and a bottom that folds into a convenient storage container for leftovers.

“We are excited to be delivering a pizza box that is not only eco-friendly, but adds convenience to our customers’ lives,” said Shawn Shenefield, Operations Manager for the Upper Crust Pizzeria via a press release.
