Wink & Nod in the South End is launching a new Scotch Club which will give members access to some very rare bottles and special Scotch-focused events. Led by Boston Nightlife Ventures beverage director Michael Boughton and Wink & Nod bar manager Brian Mäntz, the club offers an opportunity to try a number of sought after single malts such as Springbank 18 Year Old, The Exclusive Malts’ Mortlach 18 Year, and Caol Ila Unpeated Stitchell Reserve.

New members pay a $20 initiation fee to join the Scotch Club and in return receive a specially-designed coin that announces their membership to Wink & Nod staff members. Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday, two rare Scotches will be offered exclusively to Club members, along with special food pairings prepared by chef Josh Lewin of Bread & Salt at Wink & Nod—the current culinary partnership in the bar’s rotating pop-up program.

Lewin’s multi-course dinners will highlight a selection of Scotches from a single distillery or area. Also in the works for the club are members-only distillery events at the bar and a group trip to Scotland to taste some of the world’s best whiskeys right at the source.

$20 per person, 3 Appleton St., Boston; 617-482-0117 or winkandnod.com.
