Back in May, Emerson College student Jon Allen began an exclusive arrangement to sell his bottled Shirley Temple, the first-ever USDA certified organic Shirley Temple, at Lambert’s Marketplace. Now the recent grad is taking his Temple Twist to the rest of Boston.

Starting this week, you’ll be able to find Allen’s organic soda in restaurants and specialty grocery stores throughout the city. Formerly packaged in individual 750ml bottles, Temple Twist has gone through a redesign with a new logo, label, and a more accessible 12oz twist off bottle. Currently, you can find Allen’s Shirley Temple at Market in The Square, both Foodies Markets, Bailey & Sage, and acclaimed sneaker boutique, Bodega.

The list of outlets continues to grow as the 22-year-old Allen continues his grassroots marketing campaign. “In an effort to reach a large spectrum of Bostonians, I’m bypassing the traditional and controlled distribution routes to sell my organic soda. From the entryway of Bodega to Boston’s Bristol Lounge at The Four Seasons Hotel, we are eager to reach people of all different ages and backgrounds,” says Allen via a press release.

Allen was able to launch his Temple Twist brand after winning a $10,000 cash prize at the E3 Expo (Emerson Entrepreneurial Experience) in 2013. The Shirley Temple, now bottled by Flavorman (the same beverage company behind Jones Soda), is made with no unnecessary additives, just carbonated water, organic sugar, organic cherry juice concentrate, citric acid, and stevia extract.
