Everyone’s favorite Vermont creamery is giving away free ice cream cones today, continuing a tradition that began on Ben & Jerry’s first anniversary in 1979. From noon to 8 p.m., all four participating Boston area Ben & Jerry’s shops (Newbury Street, the Prudential Center, Harvard Square, Park Plaza Hotel) will be handing out free cones with flavors like their Peanut Butter Half Baked, Wayne Swirled, Boston Cream Pie, and the new Spectacular Speculoos.
