If you’re curious about Mayor Marty Walsh’s skills in the kitchen, you should probably pay a visit to Roxy’s Grilled Cheese this weekend. The mayor is the latest #Celebricheese chef to create a special for Roxy’s this week, in honor of National Grilled Cheese Month. His sourdough melt, the Party Walsh, covers a braised chicken cutlet with toasted breadcrumbs, mozzarella, provolone, and marinara.

“This looks like a really healthy lunch,” the Mayor says in a video Roxy’s shared of Walsh making the special for its debut yesterday. Check it out below.

The #Celebricheese specials started earlier in April, with the Australian-inspired Toastie by KO Pies chef Samuel Jackson, with cheddar, toasted tomatoes, avocado, and Vegemite butter. Next, Trina’s and Parlor Sports chef Suzi Maitland made the Starlite Style, with handcut fries on top, plus coleslaw and spicy mayo. Then, recent Top Chef competitor Karen Akunowicz created the umami M+C Style, with provolone and kimchi.

“We wanted to work with our favorite chefs,” Roxy’s owner James DiSabatino says. “We thought it would be fun to have one non-chef, just to see what they came up with, so we reached out to the mayor and he was way more interested than we thought he was going to be.”

He was thrilled to be asked, his associate press secretary Sam Ormsby says. “He was proud to support a local small business and praised Roxy’s for their unique approach to serving grilled cheese sandwiches.”

The Party Walsh, $7, available now through Saturday, April 30, (or until sold out), at all Roxy’s Grilled Cheese food trucks, Roxy’s restaurant in Allston, and shipping container kiosk in the Seaport.
