A busy stretch in Allston is about to get an outpost of one of Boston’s most popular quick-service spots: Chicken & Rice Guys opens its third brick-and-mortar location on Harvard Avenue on Wednesday, November 9.

The lease came about quickly, says senior business operations manager Damien Yee. Formerly the sneaker shop At the Buzzer, Chicken & Rice Guys got the opportunity to take it over just last month.

“We didn’t even get a chance to get the sign up yet,” Yee says.

They jumped on it because of the location, in an area populated with their targeted, student and young professional demographic, Yee says. The Allston shop follows food trucks and outposts in downtown Boston and Medford Square. CNR Guys is currently a pop-up option at the Prudential Center, too, at least until Eataly opens. The company always has its eyes on expansion, but he has no other plans to share at this time, Yee says.

The newest takeout spot will have Chicken & Rice Guys’s simple, satisfying menu of halal cart-inspired plates of seasoned rice, shredded lettuce, and pita, with grilled chicken, beef and lamb gyro, and tofu options; plus creamy garlic; mint, cilantro and jalapeño, and other house-made sauces. As is tradition, the Guys will be on hand in Allston on Wednesday with giveaways, including 50 free meal cards, and a golden coin for one fan to win chicken and rice for life from the newest location.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. Going forward, Chicken & Rice Guys Allston will be open Sunday-Wednesday 11 a.m.-11 p.m., and Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m.-midnight.
