Here’s a Chance to Win an AFC Championship Weekend Stay in Foxboro

Including tickets to the game, and on-field access beforehand with two-time Super Bowl champion Christian Fauria.

Foxborough, Massachusetts, USA – September 12, 2015: Exterior night view of Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots NFL football team in Foxboro Massachusetts lit up at night.

With temperatures predicted in the mid-40s compared with last weekend’s bone-chilling 20s, Championship Sunday is looking like a beautiful day to be at Gillette Stadium. Wouldn’t you like the be there to see the Patriots take on the Jaguars in their seventh straight AFC championship game?

Here’s your chance—and then some. Davio’s Northern Italian Steakhouse is giving away a full weekend stay at Patriot Place, in conjunction with several of its Foxboro neighbors. The prize package includes an on-field tour of Gillette Stadium with a knowledgable guide—two-time Patriots Super Bowl champion Christian Fauria—before the afternoon matchup. Best of all, 100 percent of the proceeds raised by this raffle will go directly to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

One of the largest food relief organizations in the country, the GBFB helped more than 60 million people in eastern New England last year. “The New England Patriots helping the Greater Boston Food Band, it makes a lot of sense,” says chef/restaurateur Steve DiFillippo.

DiFillippo, who operates 10 Davio’s restaurants including six in greater Boston, has traveled to the Super Bowl game site for the last several years to participate in the annual Taste of the NFL’s Party with a Purpose. This year, he’s going out to Minneapolis with Fauria, a WEEI personality and a former Patriots tight-end. As the two were preparing for that trip, they started talking about this weekend of fun.

In addition to two tickets to the AFC Championship game, the winner will have a pre-game lunch at Davio’s with Fauria, sports media personality Butch Stearns, and DiFillippo. After dinner, Fauria will lead the group onto the field to watch the team warm up—a perk even DiFillippo has never gotten before. “It’s really cool,” he says. After the game, stick around for a (hopefully celebratory) second reservation at Davio’s.

But the fun starts on Saturday. The Renaissance Boston Patriot Place Hotel has a room set aside for the winners, Green Tangerine is donating two Swedish massages, and Twenty8 Food & Spirits will host dinner that night. Other perks include footballs signed by Fauria and Tom Brady.

One of the least glamorous, but ultimately most valuable prizes? Free parking for the whole weekend—and early access means no Gillette traffic before the game.

All of the participating companies donated their prizes, so the weekend really does benefit the GBFB entirely, DiFillippo says. And if you don’t win, the consolation prize is pretty decent, too: $500 to Davio’s.

Raffle tickets are $1 each with a $10 minimum, and Davio’s is taking orders online until 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 19. Hey, it’s worth a shot, right? The AFC Championship Game kickoff is at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21.
