Flower ribbons welcomed the ladies to the table at this spectacular wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts (one of our favorite venues of all time). What you may not see in this photo is the transformation of the Shapiro Family Courtyard, where aerialists danced from wires above, a massive circular floral installation hung over the dance floor, and large topiaries created a dreamlike garden atmosphere.

My Favorite Wedding-Day Moment
I have two favorites: The first is right before the bride walks down the aisle, when I’m fluffing her dress and letting the music change. This particular part of the day is one she’s likely dreamed of throughout her life, and seeing it come to fruition is not only surreal for her but for me as well. The second moment is showing my couple their reception space. So often we are transforming a venue or empty tent into an awe-inspiring space, and so, when every candle is lit and every gorgeous detail is in place, I bring our couple to see the transformation before the guests come in. Their reactions are always incredible.

This is one of our favorite recent posts, not only because it’s stunning, but because of the work it took behind the scenes to accomplish it. Hurricane Dorian hit Martha’s Vineyard in the days leading up to the wedding, so many of the details and logistics had to be reconfigured at the last minute to determine the safest option that would still yield a beautiful wedding. On the wedding day, the skies miraculously cleared before the ceremony, and the entire day was spectacular. Despite the extreme weather challenges, the day went off without a hitch.

Sending the bride (or groom) down the aisle. The moment before it happens it’s just us, and it’s the quietest, calmest part of the entire day. We take a deep breath together and I send them on their way. Then I get to watch as this person who I’ve grown so close to takes their last walk as a single person.

I also love the moment when the couple has just been pronounced married. They’ve just made the most important promise they’ll make to each other, and the whole space fills with adrenaline and excitement as they head back down the aisle, leading the way to the party. (Bonus points if it’s a beautiful aisle like this one.)

This is an easy one: After we send the bride or groom down the aisle, they take their place at the altar and we finally take a big sigh of relief. There is still a lot of work left to do to make the day run smoothly, but there’s so much that has happened to get to this moment.

This is a recent favorite for a few reasons. First, between the sparklers and their expressions, it’s such an “Instagram-worthy” snap. But more than that, behind the scenes, there was so much that went into making this photo happen that most couples don’t think about. We talked about it at length with the bride and groom and then executed it flawlessly. Basically, it’s our service in a photo.
