Despite the snow, hundreds stripped down to their underwear and ran around Fenway Park to raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation.

On Saturday, February 15, hundreds gathered at Who’s On First on Yawkey Way for the sold-out inaugural Boston edition of Cupid’s Undie Run, a national fundraiser for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Executive director and cofounder Chad Leathers was on-site—heart-patterned boxers and all—to lead the underwear-clad runners on a mile-long run through Fenway Park in the snow.

Hank Morse from WROR’s Loren & Wally Morning Show emceed the pre-race party at Who’s On First, which began at noon, alongside the Burke family from Medford. Morse attended high school with Jake Burke, whose nine-year-old son Jack was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis when he was two.

The mood throughout the day was festive, with the crowd singing “Happy Birthday” to Jake’s younger son Luke and cheering for Jack, who energetically danced around on stage. That prompted his mother, Beth Burke, to ask him, “Do you think all these people would be out in their underwear if a cure wasn’t in sight?”

The Boston event raised about $213,000, contributing to the nationwide fundraiser’s goal of $3 million this year, after raising $1.3 million in donations last year.
