If you thought the return of pumpkin spice lattes was premature, then you’ll love this:

Tickets for the 2014 Holiday Pops concert series at Symphony Hall are now on sale. The annual celebration includes 40 festive holiday performances by the Boston Pops in December, including—of course—appearances by Santa Claus.

While almost as anticipatory as tickets to the Elf musical coming to the Hanover Theatre—tickets for that show went on sale last Tuesday—the Pops holiday performances are consistently great shows for families to get into the spirit of the winter holiday season. That is to say: even if you’re not in the mood for fa-la-las right now, you still might want to nab Holiday Pops tickets early.

This season, in addition to the usual favorites, the Pops will also host three Home Alone screenings right after Christmas. A live orchestra will play the original score of the movie composed by Boston Pops Laureate Conductor John Williams.

Cue the “Too soon!” trombone.
