Matt Damon Would Join Ben Affleck in a Superhero Movie

But only under one big condition.

From super spies and space pirates to zookeepers and crooked cops, Matt Damon has played a lot of different roles over the years. However, he’s surprisingly never suited up as a superhero on the big screen.

During a recent chat with the Irish Examiner at the premiere of Jason Bourne, Damon revealed that he would be interested in wearing a cape and cowl, but only if the right director was attached to the project.

Luckily, the actor’s best friend is a pretty good director who’s helming an upcoming comic book movie. Damon admitted that he would love to work on a superhero film as long as Ben Affleck was directing it.

“If [Ben] was directing me, I’d jump on it in a New York minute,” Damon said. “I’d love to work with Ben.”

It’s been a while since we’ve see these Boston-loving BFFs together on the big screen and fans would freak out if Damon were ever cast in a comic book flick opposite Batfleck.

Even though it’s unlikely that this dream scenario would ever happen, Affleck is directing the upcoming solo Batman movie, which means there’s a perfect opportunity to bring Damon into the fold.

Unfortunately, it sounds like Damon isn’t keen on playing second fiddle to the Dark Knight, so don’t expect him to suit up as Robin the Boy Wonder anytime soon.

“The problem with Ben is every time he directs a movie, he gives himself the best role in it,” Damon said. “So until he’s willing to give up the best role to one of his friends, we’re not going to get on with it.”

OK, so we may never see Damon and Affleck on screen together as the Dynamic Duo, but at least we’ll always have this amazing GIF.
