What’s for Breakfast? Siga Bielkus’ Jam-Packed Breakfast Bowl

It takes a lot of fuel to run a yoga studio.

We don’t need to tell you that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In this series, we’re asking some of Boston’s top doctors, fitness pros, and dietitians for a sneak peek into their kitchens, so we can see what’s on their breakfast table.

Siga Bielkus

Claim to fame: Bielkus is one of the four sisters who own Beacon Hill’s Health Yoga Life. Siga is chief operating officer.

What she ate: A “super bowl” of quinoa, sprouts, avocado, boiled egg, flax seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and feta cheese. She also drinks a glass of lemon water and coffee with coconut oil and cinnamon.

Why she chose it: “As a small business owner, I’m always on the go, and I don’t always know when I’ll get my next meal,” she says. “This dish is super high in protein, so it makes for perfect, long-lasting fuel. I drink a glass of warm lemon water while I prepare breakfast, which has the added benefit of cleansing the liver. I love my coffee, and by adding a teaspoon of coconut oil mixed with cinnamon, you can supercharge your metabolism to burn fat throughout the morning.”
