Hillary Clinton: Kinda Sorta Done (. . . Or Not)

1202247789We almost can’t believe this is happening. After months of bickering, scandal, primary battles, and tears, it looks like the Democratic nomination race may end tonight. The Associated Press reports that Hillary Clinton will acknowledge defeat in her adopted home state of New York this evening.

[Edit: Or. . . maybe not. Make it stop!]

Nothing against Hillary, but we’re relieved the whole thing is done. We think.

Hillary Rodham Clinton will concede Tuesday night that Barack Obama has the delegates to secure the Democratic nomination, campaign officials said, effectively ending her bid to be the nation’s first female president.

The former first lady will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race in her speech in New York City. She will pledge to continue to speak out on issues like health care. But for all intents and purposes, the two senior officials said, the campaign is over.

Now we can properly prepare for general election burnout in a couple of months.
