Residents of the Pioneer Valley will have unfettered access to all the fleece pullovers and flannel sheets they want when L.L. Bean opens its sixth Massachusetts outpost at the Mountain Farms Mall in fall 2019. The iconic outdoor outfitter’s new digs will comprise 15,000 square feet of space and employ around 50 people.

“The Pioneer Valley has outstanding outdoor recreation opportunities, as well as people who love to get out and enjoy the outdoors,” Greg Elder, the vice president of retail at L.L. Bean said in a statement to MassLive. “We look forward to showcasing our products and sharing our expertise both with longtime customers and those who may experience our brand for the first time.”

Including the Prudential Center kiosk, Massachusetts already has the largest number of L.L. Bean retail stores of any state nationwide. The forthcoming Hadley outpost will only increase the brand’s presence in the Bay State, where you seemingly can’t walk for more than three blocks without spotting a pair of ubiquitous Bean Boots or a slick Adirondack jacket. In April, L.L. Bean opened its first urban store, a comparably small space in the Seaport, and brought Bostonians an MBTA ride away from its treasure trove of carabiners, water bottles, and canvas totes.

Earlier this month, the Freeport, Maine,-based company launched its first outdoor co-working space in New York’s Madison Square Park, according to a press release. Complete with individual work stations, conference areas, and cycling desks, the office is intended to give people the chance to get their work done while enjoying the benefits of the great outdoors.
