The bones of this Cape Cod barn date back to 1849, but it wasn’t until more than a century later—in 1979—that the place was converted into a single-family home. The renovation maintained much of the barn’s original structure, keeping exposed beams, wide-pine floorboards, and granite walls intact.
The rustic dwelling has modern updates, too. A glass-paneled sitting area overlooks the property. Recessed lighting and skylight windows make the place feel bright and airy. Downstairs, sliding doors open to the backyard, where there’s a koi pond, mature trees, and flowering perennials. Beside the house, there’s also a small (yet surprisingly spacious) outbuilding, complete with a screen door and a wood stove.
