UPDATE, July 11: World of Beer opens at the CambridgeSide Galleria today.

PREVIOUSLY:

By the time you have to start back-to-school shopping, the CambridgeSide Galleria will have a place to unwind with nearly 600 brews to choose from. World of Beer is opening its first Massachusetts tavern there in June, the company announced. (Update: The restaurant opens July 11.)

In addition to 60 draft lines featuring local brews, national labels, and imports, there are also coolers with more than 500 bottles and cans, and new choices daily. The bar also offers rotating local and regionally distilled craft spirits, classic cocktails and shots, and about a dozen wines by the glass and bottle. All World of Beer locations have a custom-designed, Micro Matic infusion tower on site, enabling unique herbal, coffee, fruit, and other beer infusions, too.

The menu will be the same as the West Hartford location’s, and everything has a suggested beer pairing. There’s a broad range of tavern fare, including snacks like German pretzels; Southern fried dill pickles, pickled peppadews, and spicy pickled green beans with a local IPA dipping sauce; a range of flavored wings; chimichurri meatballs; and a sausage board with jalapeño cheddar, pickles, and house-made mustard. Expect entrees like fish and tots; and steak frites; plus street tacos; flatbreads; burgers; sandwiches; and salads. Desserts include Belgian waffle s’mores.

World of Beer will also offer “beerunch” on weekends, with choices like Belgian beer waffles with maple bourbon syrup; an ancho-chipotle bacon and egg sandwich; breakfast tacos; and cocktails including a Beermosa. The venue will also host live entertainment.

The first WoB tavern debuted in Tampa, Fla. in 2007, and there are now 50 franchises nationwide. The Cambridge location is taking over the former California Pizza Kitchen space, Eater Boston reported. In addition to a 4,000-square foot tavern, it has a 200-square foot outdoor patio.

World of Beer is open Sunday-Thursday 11-1 a.m., Friday 10:30-2 a.m., and Saturday 11-2 a.m.
