Parliament Funkadelic Is Headlining Everett Village Fest

The free block party that brought Eve 6 to the north-of-Boston city last year returns in September with George Clinton and P-Funk.

Get ready to get funked up. George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic are headlining Everett Village Fest next month, the north-of-Boston city’s music and food truck festival coming up on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria and sponsors including Wynn Boston Harbor inaugurated Village Fest in 2015, to invite people to check out the growing city. The Wailers (sans Bob Marley, of course) headlined year one, and Eve 6 visited Everett last year.

Centered on the nascent “Fermentation District,” it’s sponsored by Wynn, Night Shift Brewing, Short Path Distillery, Bone Up Brewing, and Teddie Peanut Butter, also headquartered in the neighborhood. This year, Craft Brewers’ Guild is also presenting Village Fest. That means more regional and national craft beer, including Lagunitas IPA, Downeast Cider, and Nauti Seltzer. The event is free to attend, while food trucks and the beverage sponsors will have fare for purchase.

“The past two editions of Village Fest have been a smashing success, with huge turnouts from residents of Everett and several surrounding communities,” says a spokesperson for the mayor’s office. “This year, the City of Everett expects to welcome even greater numbers. Accordingly, the festival will be enlarged to include more popular food trucks, more themed games, a second music stage, and more locally crafted beer and spirits.”

Check out the musical lineup, participating food trucks, and beverage options below—and get ready to tear the roof off with George Clinton & P-Funk.
